I though to myself “those headlights are really bad. They’re not a legacy shape or a nod to anything, why do that?” Then I threw 300ZX headlights on it and (ignoring that i lost the plot on the driver’s side) suddenly and horrifyingly I think i actually found the legacy nod?

There must be some way to make the grille larger and more rectangular... Some way.

I think
It’s supposed to be a modern interpretation of the s30 headlights, including the whole bucket shape not just the round light.

A bit more with the covers on there.
I still think the height/shape of the hood and front end are the bigger issues, and those are probably inescapable as they’re either vestiges of what looks like a warmed over 370z platform and/or a result of pedestrian impact regulations which require really high hood lines.
